Deb Zalokar

When I began taking Pilates with Deb, I thought it would just be a nice stretching class. Five years later, I had no scoliosis pain, learned how to breathe properly, and my alignment was drastically improved. Working with Deb was a pleasure; she is constantly taking continuing education classes and keeping things fresh. She is also very patient, as I was a slow learner. I highly recommend her for beginners as well as athletes of all kinds. She is a pro.

I’ve been working with Deb for almost 3 years, and I can’t say enough good things about her. I have multiple sclerosis, and by working with Deb I’ve been able to maintain my mobility and learn how to improve my balance and gait. I consider our workouts to be the best physical therapy I’ve ever had. She’s extremely knowledgeable, creative, and responsive to my individual needs and goals. I’m in much better shape, both physically and mentally, since I’ve been working with Deb. I’ve also been able to put aside my cane, and that’s huge. I can’t recommend her highly enough.

I’ve worked with Deb for over 10 years. We have had group workouts including Spinning, weights, and TRX, and private training sessions which were always customized to help me achieve my goals, prevent, and work through injuries. Deb has an intuitive ability to understand the needs of the body, from strengthening to flexibility to endurance. I appreciate her ability to listen well and provide timely and relevant suggestions for improvement.

Deb helped me train for my first marathon, and then talked me into trying to qualify for Boston, helping me train every step of the way. She believed in me and encouraged me no matter how tired or sore I was. I did qualify for Boston, twice. She also helped me train safely through pregnancy, and got me back in shape (physically and mentally) to run a sub-3:30 marathon (another BQ!) within 2 years of having a baby!
